The phenomenon that the hemp core is exposed from the full length or part of the strands and silk gaps of the steel wire rope is called hemp core exposure. Analysis of the reasons for the exposed hemp core of Nantong wire rope:

1) Improper selection of hemp core specifications and excessive diameter.

2) The hemp core is uneven in thickness or the joint is bad and the part is thick.

3) The strands are twisted unevenly, and some strands have large gaps.

4) The hemp core is too thick and hardened due to excessive oil immersion and the temperature is too low.

The exposed hemp core will reduce the breaking force of the wire rope and affect the service life.
